Application: Hyundai Genesis Coupe
Add the front shifter bushings for $30 when combined with the lever.
Just quick text for now, but you can read about Tufast's impressions by clicking here.
TiC spent a LONG time working getting the knob height and throw just right, they found a combination that many will like.
I know there's not a lot of details right now, but I'll get those up soon.
Material is 4140. Lower bushings are oil impregnated bronze that are pressed in then reamed to final size.
Some tips on install until I get the pretty instructions done:
-
Unscrew stock knob (lefty loosey)
-
Unsnap dust boot and pull apart velcro
-
Get car safely in the air
-
Remove the cat
-
Unbolt the guibo (the rubber u-joint replacement)
-
drop the driveshaft
-
Remove the head shield
-
pull down the rubber dust shield
-
Remove the clip and the pin at the bottom of the lever
-
Remove the two bolts on the lever retaining ring
-
Pull lever down and out of the car
-
CAREFULLY remove the basket from the stock lever (easier if you remove the o-rings)
-
CAREFULLY remove the rubber gasket from the stock lever
-
Put gasket on new lever
-
CAREFULLY put basket on new lever
-
Insert new lever with gasket and basket into car (the offset in the lever upper shaft goes toward the driver)
-
Replace retainer ring
-
Replace lever pin
-
Replace clip (make sure it's on there good)
-
Put rubber dut boot back on (it will have to stretch a bit. You can actually ditch this part. We have, and have had no problems)
-
Put the heat shield, driveshaft, and cat back in place
-
Make a sammich
-
Eat sammich (coffee is good at this point too)
-
Go for a drive (DO NOT eat sammich while driving. That's just bad manners)
